Brimstone
Used in hop drying process. The container in our collection shows it was used up to 1979. Its use became obsolete from 1981 onwards because brimstone (a.k.a. sulphur) burning was abolished then, since sulphur + moisture = sulphuric acid and hops were categorised as a foodstuff. Agriculture/farming. Hopping.
