Gracie Heasman (on left in doorway) worked in the house for the Whittles, Lillian Whittle with children John Whittle (left), Monica Muspratt (later Monica Pert) (centre) and Janet Whittle (in arms). Iris Maynard (later Iris Flisher) is by the bicycle. Iris put John Whittle to bed and baybysat him. c 1930. The shop is now "Kebab Fish Knight". Buildings. Commerce. People.
The private house (part seen at extreme right) was the home of Mrs ("Gran") Botley, with daughter Mildred Muspratt and grand-daughters Monica Muspratt (later Monica Pert) and Brenda Muspratt (later Brenda Pettit). Mildred's husband Sydney Muspratt was killed in WW2. When Mrs Botley died her premises were used as an extension to Maynard's shop (now "Kent Mart").
