Marden train crash 1969
B/W photo January 1969, original caption "AFTERMATH. A crane is moved into position ready to lower the hulk of the mail wagon after it hung precariously over the twisted remains of railway coaches after Saturday's disaster." Added caption "Stanley Skinner who was the ambulance officer in charge at the scene of the Marden train crash is now 89 (in 1999) and living in Bearsted. He received the BEM in recognition of his efforts. His stepdaughter Ann Woodgate is a great-great-great granddaughter of Charles Beaufoy who was a grocer and draper in High Street Marden". Transport.
