War Time Siren

OUR WAR TIME SIREN SOUNDS AGAIN.

On D Day, 6th June, and also the date of our Great Musical Picnic, we were able to set off the siren finishing with the all-clear. Peter Cosgrove came dressed in full WW2 uniform and Nigel Hammond represented the Royal British Legion with their branch flag.

Quite a number of villagers and visitors assembled for this. I was amused by the reaction of 2 young brothers – one was horrified at the noise and held his hands over his ears, whilst the younger one was jumping up and down with delight. (Needless to say I just missed this photographic gem.) However the dogs there didn’t seem to turn a hair.
